Creating a world that works for us

YOUR SiM COMMUNITY

None of us are in this alone. Throughout our lives, little beacons of joy, hope, inspiration, support, and motivation come along in human form, ready and willing to be part of your life in a positive way. These individuals are people who’ve done that for me through the work they offer the world.

These are people I respect and admire, and I’m pleased that they, like you, have joined the SiM community. Check them out!

Town Hall Collaborative is my go to spot in Denver for community events. This playful and well designed space is operated by Denise and Lauren who wanted to give Denver a community building, women empowering, awesome hangout spot where all people could feel at home. They’ve totally succeeded.

Many SiM events take place there, so check those out, or go in for a tasty drink, crafting night, or an awesome dance party. Seriously, they do it all - and they do it well.

Here’s a blurb from their website: “Our hope for Town Hall is that you feel welcomed when you come in, connected while you’re here, and inspired when you leave.”

Awakening Boutique is by far my favorite shop in Denver. In fact it’s probably my favorite anywhere. Founded, owned and operated by Rose and Tory, the vibe of this women-owned sex-positive boutique is playful, comfortable, easy going and basically just awesome. I’ve brought my friends, my sister, my mother, and pretty much every other visitor I’ve had to the shop and they all love it.

They’ve got toys, tools, educational and playful books, clothes, art, and even do events, all around pleasure.

I am super lucky to have them promote SiM’s partners massage workshops. You can find those and more on their event page.

Here’s a blurb from their website: Awakening is an independent sex and wellness boutique. It was founded with the mission to create a safe, inclusive, fun, and community-driven space for people to learn about and explore their sexuality.

Robin Gerlach

Robin is a one of a kind human. I am fortunate to have experienced his talent as a real estate agent first hand. When Robin worked with me and my partner to find us our home, he used his keen senses of empathy and intuition to read the sentiment behind our words. Life as I know it would not be happening this way if it wasn’t for this man’s brilliant work.

Robin’s approach to his real-estate clients feels like an advocate, friend, and counselor rather than a salesman. We named our house plant after him (the one he gifted us when we moved in)!

When he isn’t helping someone find their home, he’s hanging out with his family in Colorado or Brazil, teaching his daughter the joys of ice cream and libraries, and checking in on friends.

Erin Bligh is a creator, a maker, and a deep feeler. They make work that invigorates my drive to try new things, explore different mediums, and get my hands dirty. From cheese maker extraordinaire to jewelry making brilliance and everywhere in between, this fine human does it all and does it well.

They made an appearance on our TMCM season 1 podcast, and I’m hoping they’ll join us again for season 2 (hint hint Erin).

Here’s a blurb from their website: Erin (they/them) is a queer, nonbinary artist and herbalist. Their varied artistic works include encaustic and mixed-media painting, leatherworks, silversmithing, murals, digital illustration and crafting herbal-based salt baths, soaps, salves and remedies.

Jes’s work as a graphic designer goes beyond just the designs she creates. She spends time getting to know clients as people, cultivating a relationship based on appreciation, trust, and respect. I should know, she helped me design the SiM branding! Not only did she create these beautiful features with me, she also encouraged me and my work, integrated my art and opinions into all the designs, and made the process uplifting for me along the way.

Here’s a blurb from her website: My design philosophy is deeply routed in the importance of connection as part of the human experience. When we focus our design on creating pathways for connection, we make room for big and meaningful impact.
